Meet our team!
Chile Inside is a privately owned agency in the youth, student and educational travel industry. Chile Inside promotes intercultural, linguistic and educational programs for foreigners in Chile. We specialize in the organization of language courses, internships, volunteer work, au pair, farm stays, working holidays and other culture-focused experiences abroad. Since our foundation back in 2003 we have helped thousands of people to realize their dream of spending a time in Chile.
Chile Inside is market leader when it comes to carrying our exchange programs in Chile. Programs like our popular Working Holiday / Work & Travel and Farm Stays have been introduced very successfully into the local market back in 2005. Nowadays, these kinds of programs are part of the standard offerings. Further, the Au Pair Chile program has been introduced to the Chilean market in 2015 and has grown since then rapidly.
Our team is composed by young, travel experienced and friendly professionals. We have travelled all over and know Chile like the back of our hands. We (almost) all have one in common - we are foreigners living in Chile and therefore can put ourselves in our clients' place. We understand their needs and concerns. Our long-standing experience and pronounced service-orientation is reflected in many satisfied clients from around the globe. The staff of Chile Inside speaks several languages to be able to give support to our costumers in their mother language. We speak English, Spanish, German and French!
And, so that you know who is behind the name of Chile Inside, we are pleased to introduce our team:
Marion is German and came to Chile in 2002. Her plan was to stay for half a year, but as she got to know people and country, she decided to stay. In November 2003, Marion founded the agency Chile Inside and has since been managing it very successfully. Before her time in Chile and after completing her studies in Business and Finance, she worked as a financial advisor in Private Banking at Deutsche Bank. In parallel to her work as the founder of Chile Inside, Marion managed the Latin America business activities of a large American financial services company and got to know the whole of Latin America through many trips. She has also travelled to almost all European countries, Australia and parts of Asia and Africa. During 2009, she increasingly withdrew from her commitments in the financial sector and has since been putting all her efforts into Chile Inside in order to ensure continuous company growth and the development of further programs. Marion speaks German, Spanish and English fluently and also knows some French.
Julia was born in the south of Germany. During her school years, she learned English and Spanish as foreign languages which later on woke her interest in other cultures and countries. After her studies in international business she worked for several years in a multinational company with colleagues from all over the world. This was where she had her first contact to South America. Julia loves to travel and while on a trip to Chile she was fascinated by the stunning and beautiful landscape of the country, reason why she came back several times. Since May 2015 she supports our team in client support. Julia speaks German, English and Spanish.
Roman was born in the south of Germany. Since a guest school year in Uruguay, he has been enthusiastic about Latin America and the Spanish language. Since then he has traveled to several countries in South America and knows many places where our programs take place. After studying social work and several years working in various social fields, he decided to move to Santiago de Chile with his Chilean wife and child. Roman supports us in the area of customer care. He speaks fluent German, Spanish and English.
Anna was born in Germany and went to Paris after graduating from high-school, where she pursued for four years binational studies in Franco-German Relations, which she completed the following year in Bonn. Inspired by her Chilean roommate in Paris, she came to Chile in 2014 to do a 3-month internship in the cultural sector. 3 months became 6, and now already several years. Anna supports our team in client support since December 2017. She speaks German, English, Spanish and French.
Gianna was born in Aachen, Germany and has a German mother and a Belgian father. She grew up in the German speaking region of Belgium. Due to the geographic convenient location she was confronted with the languages French and Dutch during her schooldays. Within her studies in Maastricht in the Netherlands she went on a 3 month trip to Santiago which was organized by Chile Inside. This stay abroad contributed to her decision to move to Chile after her graduation. The cultural differences, the lifestyle of Chileans and South America in general really fascinated her. Since she was very happy with the organization of Chile Inside, she decided to support the agency within the frame of an internship from September 2016 onwards. Since April 2017, she forms part of our staff and actively provides support in the areas of client service, front office and marketing. Gianna speaks German, English, Spanish and French.
Sergio is Chilean and was born in the capital Santiago. He has worked for many years in tourism and has a great knowledge of the country and experience in contact with people from all over the world. Thanks to his many years of experience in the tourism market, Sergio is able to understand the needs of clients. In 2016, he had the opportunity to live for six months with his German girlfriend in Germany, where he was able to further develop his German language skills. In addition to Spanish and German, Sergio also speaks fluent English, as he took a university degree in English. Sergio is an art lover and produces crafts in ceramics. He also enjoys making music, his music group is called Jazz Muy Tarde. At Chile Inside, Sergio provides service and support to our international partners and clients.
Rahel is Swiss and started working with Chile Inside in March 2015. She travelled to Latin America for the first time in 2002 when she was participating in a volunteer project at an orphanage in Guatemala. Afterwards she decided to continue her travels which led her all the way to Argentina, where she stayed for a while and worked in a hostel. She has visited almost all the different countries where we offer programs and she has also participated in many volunteer projects in Europe. Therefore she knows the participants’ worries and concerns very well. After finishing her studies in History, Archeology and History of Arts in Zurich, she decided to emigrate to Chile, a country frequently visited by her in the last 10 years. Rahel speaks German, Spanish, English and French.
Esperanza is the only true Chilean in our team. She was born in the south of the country and has lived in many different Chilean cities. She came to Santiago – where she likes it a lot – to study engineering at the University of Andrés Bello. She has been able to gain lots of experience with foreign participants, as her family is one of our most loyal host families, and Esperanza has therefore already shared her home with many host siblings from all over the world. In February 2011, she obtained her university title and has been working at Chile Inside since July 2011. Esperanza supports us with the administration and organization of the stays in Chile. She enjoys meeting people from other countries and getting to know the world’s different cultures and learning from them. Due to her friendly personality and her unfailing good mood she is appreciated by colleagues and customers alike. She speaks Spanish and some English.
Vera is German and has always loved foreign languages, so she took Spanish in school. After completing a year abroad in Spain while studying communication science at RWTH Aachen, it quickly became clear that South America should be the next step. So, in 2005 she came to Santiago for the first time to do an internship. And well, after completing her studies, she packed up again to live in Chile. In the meantime, she has founded her German-Chilean family in Santiago. Vera is a big outdoor fan and so in exactly the right place here in Chile - there is hardly a national park between the Atacama Desert and Patagonia, which she has not had under her hiking boots yet. After many years working in a local tour operator, Vera came to Chile Inside. She is in charge of our Marketing and speaks fluent German, Spanish, English and some French.
