Program Info

The Andes Mountain range is blessed with a lot of snow every year, due to its incredibly high altitudes. This results in perfect skiing conditions during the winter season in Chile between the months of May and September. Chile is internationally known for its excellent skiing areas and even professional skiers find their way down to Chile to use the opposite winter season for training.

The program locations are either in the central region of Chile in the ski resorts around Santiago or in the south of Chile near Villarrica and Osorno. Even for “non-skiers”, the Andes offer many possibilities for fun in the snow parks. Here, children and children-at-heart can enjoy the snow and other activities such as tubing, sledding, snow biking or canopy.

Possible working areas in the ski resorts are the ski hotels, the skiing facilities or the ski rental. Depending on availability, you will be placed in one of these areas and can use your free time to enjoy the slopes.

Work Tasks

As a “Work and Traveller” in a ski resort in Chile, you may be working in several different areas, depending on your skills and the demand of the different facilities.

Possible work tasks include:

  Attending to guests
  Ski equipment rental
  Work in the snow park
  Administrative tasks
Work in the hotel or restaurant
  Ski ticket sales

Accommodation and Board

During your time at the ski resort, you will be placed directly in the program location. There you will sleep in a single room or dormitory and will share the other rooms with your housemates. You will receive board in form of breakfast, half-board or full board. Wi-Fi is also available, even though the connection might not be the best.
