Social commitment is in great demand! In Latin America the social disparaties are still very existent. There is a huge gap between rich and poor people. Many families live in poverty and are dependant on external help. Sick and handicapped children are often repudiated, leaving them homeless and, as a consequence, having to stay at hospital or children's homes. Many old people live in nursing homes or on the streets. Many sick people do not have the money to pay for the necessary surgery or medical treatment. We mainly offer full-time volunteer work positions but we also provide you the opportunity to volunteer on a part-time basis. If you volunteer full-time you will work between 35 and 45 hours per week, usually from Monday to Friday. Half-day volunteering requires a time commitment of 2 to 4 afternoons per week. This gives you the unique possibility to combine volunteering with a Spanish courses in Santiago de Chile, Valparaíso or Viña del Mar. This allows you to practice your Spanish in real life situations and you can train your newly acquired skills. Experience a different side of life in Latin America and help give hope to some people! |
